Dear Friends,
February  2009

Well, there’s nothing like saving up a bunch of good news and downloading it for you all at once. So take a deep breath. Here we go.

This March the first ever Christian Book Expo will be held in Dallas, Texas, at the Dallas Convention Center. I’ll be there, soaking up the excitement, signing books, meeting faithful readers, and making new friends. This is your special invitation to join me and to get the word out to all your friends to come join in the fun.

I’ll be signing my Christy-Award winning novel Hallie’s Heart and its long-anticipated sequel, Morningsong, at the Kregel booth on Friday the 20th from 1:00-1:45. I’m especially excited that Kregel has chosen the Book Expo for the release of Morningsong. This book continues the next chapters in the life of Mona VanderMolen as her niece Hallie and Mona’s sister Ellen move to Stewartville to begin new lives.

Christian Book Expo 2009

You can also look for me at the Barbour booth for meet-and-greet events on Saturday the 21st from 11:00-12:00 and 3:00-4:00. I’ll be glad to discuss caregiving issues with you, just visit, or sign copies of Precious Lord, Take My Hand or Ambushed by Grace. These books make great gifts for caregiving friends or your church library, and I always appreciate the opportunity to personalize books with a note of encouragement.

Please held get out the word to your friends and family about this exciting event. And check out the Expo website for a complete schedule and details at www.christianbookexpo.com.

Morningsong to Release
I also couldn’t be more pumped about my newest contemporary Christian novel—Morningsong. This book takes on some heavy-hitting issues, such as addiction and chronic illness while retaining the approachable and at times even humorous tone of Hallie’s Heart.

By the way, for the first three readers to post reviews of either Morningsong or my newest caregiving book, Ambushed by Grace on Amazon or Barnes and Noble, I’ll send along a free autographed copy of one of my titles—your choice. Just write the review and contact me through my email address, through Facebook (Shelly Jean Beach), or through my blog.

Did I say blog?

Introducing Shelly’s Real-Live Blog
Yes, folks, it’s up and running. Come visit me at my blog at shellybeachonline.wordpress.com for all the latest and greatest about my life, my travels, caregiving, writing, writers’ conferences, helpful links and resources, interviews, and a little blathering thrown in here and there. Whether you’re a caregiver, a writer, or a fiction fan, you’ll find something to stimulate your thoughts or provide practical assistance.

Archives currently include information on resources for children in caregiving settings, how to assess whether or not you should take on a loved one’s care in your home, as well as writing info on building your platform and weaving life into fiction.

Cedar Falls Christian Writers’ Conference
Be sure to check out my website at shellybeachonline.com for registration information regarding the Cedar Falls Christian Writers’ Conference. This year Dennis Hensley and Christy Award-winning fiction author Tracy Groot will be speaking, along with me. Remember, only thirty-five slots are available, so early registration is recommended.

This conference is unique—offering three and a half days of up-close and personal access to some of the top writing professionals in the country in a charming Bible conference setting. Not only that, but it’s more than competitively priced for the value.

Travel Schedule
Beginning February 10th, I’m hitting the ground running, with speaking events spanning the state of Michigan, to Dallas, to the Seattle area, and Iowa. Be sure to check out my website at shellybeachonline.com for details or my blog at shellybeachonline.wordpress.com.

I hope to see you soon. And if not in person, to hear you chat back on my blog.

Blessings,
Shelly
